Manage feed for cattle to be healthy and high-quality

To ensure that cattle are healthy and of high quality, it is certain that food and feeding are important because food contains energy, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Beef cattle and dairy cows at each stage require a variety of nutrients. We need to provide adequate nutrition to meet their needs, including enough for production.

Energy: Energy used by cattle comes from both carbohydrates and fats, especially volatile fatty acids. These fatty acids are derived from the fermentation process of roughage in the rumen. The volatile fatty acids are used as building blocks for fat synthesis in milk and lactose production. However, during hot, dry conditions when roughage production is insufficient for the cattle’s needs, the milk fat content may not meet standards. Therefore, supplementing with powdered fat (Asia fat rumin R-100) can help meet the standard fat content in milk production. This type of fat passes through the rumen without affecting the rumen’s bacteria, allowing the cattle to digest and absorb nutrients efficiently for growth and production.
Protein: Protein is a crucial nutrient as it serves as the building block for tissue, hormones, and enzymes, affecting growth. Therefore, it is important to select high-quality, safe, and uncontaminated protein sources. Protein sources in animal feed can be categorized into three groups: animal-based protein, plant-based protein, and non-protein nitrogen (NPN) sources. Cattle can utilize NPN as a nitrogen source, providing up to one-third of the required protein level.
Vitamins and Minerals: Vitamins and minerals are cofactors and enzymes in the metabolic processes of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. They play a role in stimulating growth and increasing production, especially the chelated mineral group (Nuvela Dairy), which can be absorbed and utilized more efficiently than regular minerals, leading to increased production efficiency.
